I see you at the networking events, luncheons, workshops and conferences paying close attention, writing down notes and taking photos of the presentations. You’re not a complete newbie. You have just enough knowledge to get by.

You’ve even dabbled a bit. You know how to use LinkedIn. You’ve boosted a few posts on Facebook and you’ve even set up a Pinterest account (though you haven’t started using it yet).

You just don’t how all the pieces work together and you are at a complete loss on how to capitalize on your time and effort. So you say social media doesn’t work and you put internet marketing on your calendar for “someday.”

You’re living right on the edge of cyberspace and reality and right now, reality — wins. Reality is the tangible pieces working in your business every day and the online world … well, it can wait.

If you are not already marketing online (and I don’t mean posting sporadically on Facebook), you are behind your competitor, missing out on money and worst, you are really living in reality because online marketing is now.

When you have just enough knowledge to get by, you make decisions that cost money and time– the two commodities you can’t afford to waste. And the status quo never changes.

You’ll attend the next workshop and learn things you’ve already heard before and you’ll walk away still not knowing how to implement. You need to understand the whole internet, not just the parts that look good on conference flyers. 

At this point, you need a wonder woman, a digital wonder woman and that’s where I came in. I’ll take you from traditional to digital and give you a plan to sustain your business before the credits start to roll on your next luncheon.

The boring tale is that I’ve been in marketing and public relations for over 14 years and you know what …I still LOVE it. What keeps the fires burning? I never stop learning and I constantly look for ways for others to know what I know. I could really stop the bio right here. That’s sums up nicely, but the for the sake of going through this ritual. I’ll tell you a bit more.

I’m Reesy, your host on this voyage through digital marketing and this still somewhat confusing thing called the internet. Collectively, I’ve worked with hundreds of nonprofits, business owners and entrepreneurs.  It doesn’t matter what your business is, you have to find novel ways to talk about it, but more importantly, you have to address your customer’s needs … not your own.   • Podcast host? Yeppers.
  • Design? Flyers, ad, programs … should I go on?
  • Facebook ads? Yes. Yes. Yes.
  • Social media strategy? In my sleep.

AND, I started a nonprofit and authored a book. 

Everyone in business has a common goal — to get their job done, make money and look competent while doing it (This is purposely out of order). I have those same goals. I also have the desire to help business owners ascend to their dreams, whether it’s the American Dream or otherwise. 

… cries at commercials and really good movie endings (or really bad ones).
… loves the underdog, the slow runner, the impossible dream.
… loves musicals and believes the world’s problems would be far less contentious if we had to argue and disagree in song. I’ve been known to spontaneous break into song (don’t worry, I’m normally alone).
… believes in justice understanding that justice is not the necessarily the outcome but the process.
… believes in the lyrics and sweeping notions of We Are the World and Man in the Mirror (Though I have to admit, I’m not sure if that’s because Michael Jackson was involved. I’ve won two Halloween contests dressed as the King of Pop. #justsayin).
… like to boldly color outside the lines until my OCD kicks in. #erase
… loves all things Wonder Woman. I could open a museum. I’m not saying I’m Wonder Woman. I’m just saying no one has ever seen me and Wonder Woman in the same room. (You do the math).
… is an INFP (The Mediator) on Myers-Briggs personality test. Described as: INFP (Introverted Intuitive Feeling Perceiving) personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, INFPs have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine.
